Getting the most from taking Pickleball lessons
Lessons alone can help your game but may not be enough to “move the needle.” There are several things you can do to make your clinic/lesson investment count.
Here are some suggestions to make your clinic investment pay off.
Try to play 2 to 3 times per week. Especially right after a clinic. Try to use what you have learned in the clinic.
Drill before play whenever possible. Ask people you play with to show up 30 minutes early and practice drills. Suggested drills: practice dinking, practice hitting deep serves, returning slow, high returns so that you
Don’t be tough on yourself. Focus on the fundamentals of what we’ve learned. Be realistic about your abilities. You will get better if you play to your current skills.
Do individual paddle drills 10 to 20 minutes a day. See video for directions- Link.
Be patient whenever possible. Take a breath and wait for the ball to come to you.
